Vilcabamba Ecuador

On the bus from Cuenca to Loja as we wind our way around the Andes Mountains. See that corner up ahead? Well my bus driver will probably want to pass some car just as we go around that corner into the oncoming traffic lane.
This is the cramped bus I was on on my way from Loja to Vilcabamba ($1.30). Sometimes I feel like the wizard Gandolph in the "Fellowship of the Rings" movie while he is visiting "the Shire" and trying to fit inside the hobbits little houses and buses. In many of the places I have stayed at I have had to duck my head to get down the stairs or into a bathrooms etc...

This is the pool that is just outside my room in Vilcabamba.
This is my place that has a hammock outside. It is a bit pricey at $20US a night but am only staying here a couple nights.
Vilcabamba is a little valley surrounded by mountains. It is a very tranquil place to chill out and relax. It has a good vibe.
